Shasta County Insurance Scam
Posted on: 12/06/2013
Roger Edward Winkler, 64 was recently arrested for allegedly selling false insurance policies and pocketing the revenue. The state insurance department sent out a report stating that Winkler was creating non-existent policies then issuing fake certificates. The victims would then leave his office and not even know that their car, home or business remained uninsured while Winkler collected premiums.
Mr. Winkler is scheduled to be seen in court in January facing five counts of felony grand theft and insurance fraud. Anyone who purchased a policy from Winkler should contact their insurance provider and confirm whether or not they are covered.
