San Francisco Firefighter Absolved of Criminal Charges

Last July a Boeing 777 crash landed at the San Francisco International airport returning from Seoul, South Korea. The crash resulted in two fatalities and nearly 200 injured. During the chaos of the first moments of impacts emergency medical teams rushed onto the scene and began dousing the area with firefighter foam. As San Francisco Firefighter Elyse Duckett was responding to the accident she tragically and fatally ran over one of the plane crash survivors. It was reported that the victim was lying prone and covered in firefighter foam.
Following an investigation this incident was labeled as a “tragic accident” and the firefighter was absolved of any criminal charges. District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe stated that it was not a difficult decision to come to and just the result of a “dramatically chaotic situation”.
