A former world boxing champion known as “Mighty Quinn” plead guilty to multiple Bay Area bank robberies, according to federal prosecutors.
James Page, 42, a well-known boxer was easily recognized when a police officer saw an evidence photo released by the authorities. He signed a plea deal and admitted to robbing eight East Bay banks and stole over $20,000. Page was reportedly unarmed and passed handwritten notes to the bank teller in each incident.
Page had already served an 11 year prison sentence for bank robberies in Atlanta, and was released in 2012. His original sentencing would have landed a 20 year prison term for each robbery, but after a plea deal for his most current charges, Page is expected to serve 20 years in prison.
