Three People Injured in DUI Crash

Posted on: 12/15/2014

Tom Wilkinson, 60, was recently sentenced to five years in jail after a DUI crash that injured three people. The San Mateo Superior Court in Redwood City stated that Wilkinson had already been convicted of three previous drunk driving convictions.

According to the report Wilkinson had crashed into a parked car with multiple people inside. A man in the front seat of the car was pushed into the windshield from the collision and another victim was pinned to a bench after the car being pushed to the curb.

Immediately after the crash Wilkinson fled the scene, but a witness was able to take down his license plate number. The suspect was tracked down only a few blocks away from the accident.

Wilkinson had a blood-alcohol level of .39 percent, so he was taken to the hospital before he was booked into jail in Redwood City. Along with his prison sentence the suspect will be required to pay over $100,000 in restitution to the victims and about $21,000 in fines.
