Posted on: 01/08/2015

Alameda County has reported a DUI Arrest decrease of about 30 percent from last year’s year-end crackdown. Overall arrests decreased, but drunk driving related fatalities increased threefold.

From December through New Year’s authorities reported 289 arrests for suspicion of driving under the influence. That number is drastically lower from the 415 reported arrests from the same time last year.

One of the reported deaths involved Travis Maresca, 20 of Livermore and an unnamed female passenger. Maresca was traveling on I-580 when he stuck a struck a pole while attempted to exit the freeway.

The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and Maresca was booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.

According to the police, DUI operations will increase over all upcoming holidays and events. If you or a loved one needs help concerning Livermore Bail Bonds, please contact Nor Cal Bail Bonds for any information.
