Laptop scam in Fremont – Fremont Bail Bonds

Late last month Fremont police responded to a call that came from a gas station on Mowry Avenue. According to the report a man was approached and offered a new MacBook Pro laptop for $1,000. He informed the other man that he did not have $1,000, so he lowered the price to $500.
The victim agreed on the price, and informed the suspect that he would have to go to the ATM to withdraw the money.
Once he came back with the cash he was handed the laptop box and the seller drove away. The victim then looked inside the box and discovered that it contained a much older and less valuable MacBook. Police have been unable to apprehend any suspects in this case.
